England Rugby Coach Trains Next Generation Players at ACS Cobham
Eddie Jones, head coach of the England rugby union team, runs coaching camp with over 80 local students.
ACS Cobham International School recently welcomed Eddie Jones, current head coach of the national England rugby union team and former professional player, as part of a coaching session for students.
Over eighty students, aged 12 – 18, took part in two-day camp which also included masterclass sessions with players Danny Care, Harlequins and England; Mike Brown, Harlequins and England; Kyle Sinckler, Harlequins, England, British and Irish Lions; Ugo Monye, ex Harlequins, England, British and Irish Lions.
Dave Schuchter, Head of Sport at ACS Cobham, commented:
“Receiving training insights from the nation’s head coach and rugby royalty is a truly inspirational experience for students at any age and will be sure to inspire the next generation of rugby stars.”
The session organised by Elite Rugby also saw qualified Rugby Football Union coaches put students from ACS Cobham and other schools through their paces.
Expert coaching can only strengthen the skills of the current ACS Cobham rugby team which recently won the International School Sports Tournament Rugby Championships, competing against other school teams from Netherlands, Belgium and France.
In 2015, ACS Cobham was also selected as an official training ground for the Rugby Union World Cup welcoming the national Namibia and Italy teams which used the school’s 128-acre campus and state-of-the-art sports facilities in preparation for the championships.
